What is FUE?

What you didn’t know about FUE Hair Transplant and should know

FUE, or follicular unit extraction, is the most minimally invasive method to harvest and transplant hair. In this method, individual follicular units are removed from the patient’s donor site, typically the sides or the back of the head, and then replanted back into the affected area of the scalp.

It is the most advanced technique for hair extraction and transplant and one that we specialize in at Outbloom Skin and Laser Clinic. It gives our patients the most painless experience as possible. The maximum work of extraction and hairline designing is done personally by Dr Aklish Jain himself unlike atother centres where patientsare left at the mercies of technicians.

Very often, patients with advanced grade or stage of alopecia are refused hair transplant at other centres due to limited donor hair on their scalp. At Outbloom Skin and Laser Clinic, we never turn away such severe cases. We are expert at transplanting body hair to your head; we can use hair from the beard area, chest and other body parts that provide an unlimited supply of hair apart from scalp hair to extract the maximum follicles to cover a larger area.

We specialize in reconstructing eyebrows, moustaches and beards to give them a fuller look. Many young patients have taken advantage of our expertise for eyebrow and beard restoration.

This is how the procedure worksat Outbloom

The FUE procedure at Outbloom begins with the designing of the patient’s hairline aesthetically with the help of the Laser Hairline Device in the state-of-the-artOT equipped with German microscopes. This is very crucial because the reconstructed hairline bears the signature of the surgeon, giving the first impression of the quality of his work. Before the procedure, the patient’s scalp is shampooed well and treated with antibacterial solution to sanitize the donor site.

Once this is done, the patient is put under local anaesthesia and Dr Jain begins to extract individual 1–4 hair folliclesat a time from the donor site on the headusinghigh quality imported Serrated Punches. The sharp Punches, which are disposed of after single use, make extraction of grafts faster and minimize transection rates. During the entire procedure, the removed grafts are maintained at a constant low temperature in the Chilling Device.

Following the extraction, Dr Jain punctures the scalp area that is to receive the grafts with Specialized CTSBlades, which are precision micro surgical needles that are highly accurate and help in implanting the grafts. Dr Jain is expert at blending the grafts in, inserting them at the correct angle and density to match the original, natural hair pattern of the patient. The best results are those that are undetectable and the doctor takes utmost care in ensuring the correct direction of the slits so that the final result is an absolutely natural-looking hairline… no one can make out if it is a transplant.

Ladies, good news for you… a completely natural-looking hairline and no visible scars.
FUE does not leave obvious and typical scars like strip surgery!
How much time should you budget for FUE?

FUE procedures vary from patient to patient. Depending on the number of grafts needed, FUE hair transplant can take anywhere from one long session to several smaller sittings of a few hours. A long session typically involves 4000–5000 grafts and can stretch over 6–7 hours. On our part, we ensure maximum coverage in a single session to curtail the number of sessions our patients need to attend.

Yes, it is true FUE takes up a little time. But at Outbloom it involves a considerably shorter time than the conventional Strip Harvesting technique. The good news is it does not leave obvious and typical scars like strip surgery.
What is the recovery period?

Because FUE hair grafting does not require harvesting of large areas of the scalp there is no linear incision required on the back of the head. The extraction of individual follicles means there are only tiny puncture scars or pit scars, which are almost invisible to the naked eye.

Near zero post-surgery pain and discomfort.
It takes less than 7 days to recover!
Are the results permanent?

Yes! Once you have undergone FUE at Outbloom Skin & Hair Clinic, the results are life-long. Do not worry if you see the newly transplanted hair shedding after a few weeks; it grows back strong and healthy.

Hair growth starts 3–4 months after the transplant but it will take around 12–15 months for your head to show full results. 100 percent regrowth assurance.
